The instrument was previously owned by a Dutch artist and played in numerous bands and studio projects.
He brought it over from the United States personally while he was touring there In the early 80s.
He got it from a Studio Guitarist in Nashville while they were playing together.
The guitar was partly refinished in a not very tasty way and needed a refret job. Some original parts were missing already then. The guitar sounded incredibly good. The guitar was purchased by the current owner as soon as the possibility was there and nick-named it “Paulette”. The neck profile has a nice comfortable round shape. I would call it a medium; it is not too big, but stronger than a 60s shape.
Florian Jäger from Oberstdorf near Munich, a reputated guitar luthier, has used innovative techniques to get the desired restorations. The Top Face had some minor discoloration spots Cosmetic highlights were done with his head, heart and hands and so he revitalized the Beauty of this Burst back to original glory with original Gibson Formula laquer.
Original serial number still present. The weight is 3,9 kg/8,59 lbs. All parts are period correct.
The only exception are the 2 cream pickup rings which are the best available repro in the market.
Made out of unmistakable butyrate material (which even smells as original 59 do) with correct mold markings; difficult enough to be identified as non-original. The PAF pickup covers have been removed once. The bridge pickup reads at 7,99k Ohm and the neck pickup reads at 7,63k Ohm. (Both have double Black Bobbins). Both PAF’s Baseplate legs have had a small side cut.
Tuners, plastic parts, PAF pickups, pots (all 4 dated with I34 9 07), caps (Bumble Bee’s), wires, pointer washers, 3-way toggle tip, non-wire ABR1 bridge, stop bar. Everything is there and original.
The case is a period correct Lifton and correct brown 5-Latch hard shell case.
The guitar is a late 50s area Gibson Les Paul Standard that plays and sounds excellent which will provide confidence to any new prospective owner and increase value for the future.
Please note that the guitar is stored at the owner and can only be checked on appointment. Please message me for a term.
